But I love giving back and helping these kids to understand that they’re not alone and that they can go forward with a future and career. I tell them it doesn’t always mean they’re going to be a movie star though. I feel it’s important to qualify that because sometimes people can be a bit gaga when they’re in the midst of someone they’ve seen in TV or film, but that’s just a vehicle that gets us in the door to where we can have these conversations. So if it wasn’t for George Pal I wouldn’t have had these opportunities.
I guess it takes a rain of frogs for Tom Cruise to really act. Magnolia is a brilliant film by director Paul Thomas Anderson and I will be the first to admit that Tom Cruise did a great job in this movie. Cruise breaks his type cast in this film understanding movies and does a great job with it. He plays the role well and you can actually forget that it is him in this film.
According to Vinny, they got together in January 2005 to create “a series of short episodes entitled Battle Shmoes. The idea was to use a large collection of G.I. Joes as characters in a whacked out battle between good and evil.” They weren’t satisfied with what they came up with, so they simply went outside and film studying The Snowball Massacre. This, they were satisfied with; they found it “short, stupid, and contained unnecessary amounts of blood.” What more could a guy ask for?

With only 9 days to shoot and nothing but friends as cast the result is truly amazing. Any reviewer of this film that chooses to pick at the admittedly choppy editing or bad acting should first have to recreate it under the same circumstances. Anyone with an understanding of the homework film industry can, and should, see this film as a solid first step much like The Evil Dead or Clerks before it.
He taught me about his SR package, what the lenses were, and how to load magazines, he said. Then he started me by working on Shyam Benegal’s documentary on Nehru.
