Hi there my name is Gary. I’d like to take a few moments to introduce myself. I started playing the guitar at the 14. Although I come from a musical family there were no one actually practising music at that time. I had the good fortune to find an amazing teacher who to this day still remains a great friend. If it wasn’t for this I may not have pursued music.
We all understand the inherent value and potential that music has. At school I really didn’t have much purpose and it wasn’t until I started playing the guitar that I found that some of my other subjects were improving as I was enjoying them.
What is important to me is that each and every person that I come in contact with should have the opportunity to be inspired by learning music.
For me music and the guitar and music are many things but above all they are in essence an opportunity to build connections and community. Music by nature brings people together. For me this is one of the most value creating aspects of music.
The musical history of the Richmond area is an incredibly rich source of inspiration. From bands like cream, The Yardbirds and the Rolling Stones. Wouldn’t it be incredible if we could help nurture and develop the next generation of pioneers in music!
My son James is really enjoying his guitar lessons with Gary, they play the songs he wants to learn and the technique videos help with his practise at home. There is never any problems getting him up to attend his session!
Gary has been great introducing my young son to the guitar. He’s got a good way with kids and a determination to teach music.
Gary is a great guy and a great teacher. My playing improves after every lesson.
Every guitar lesson was an achievement in developing the skills to play. So happy I joined the group guitar lessons
